Be a Foster Parent

Updated: 3/13/2016

We support foster and adoptive parents.

Polk County needs fosters parents in a desperate way. There are currently only 8 foster families in Polk County right now.

Did you know there are more than 400,000 children in the United States in need of a forever home?

Never think that you are too old to raise a foster child. Classes for Polk County will start as soon as there is enough signed up and last 10 weeks. You will have to go through those classes to become a foster parent. Contact Jennifer at the information below if you are interested in joining a class soon!

Isaiah 6:8 "Also I head the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, "Here am I; send me."

Christian foster families can give children a firm foundation on which to stand. Most children entering into foster care are from extremely chaotic family situations and are very confused and frightened over the "what's next" for their lives. Opening our hearts, homes, and families is one way to share God's Love and to show them the difference Jesus can make in their lives.

"Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" Is God calling you to be a foster parent? Is God asking you to go for Him? Is He asking you to please take in one of these children?

Please consider being a foster family today. If you think about it you can call DSS in Polk County to have more questions answered. Contact DSS at 828-894-2100.
